If you read the reviews about StarCity, you could be impressed by all the 5 star reviews. A bit more digging and it appears that some of these reviews are fake. If they are, I don't approve of this practice, but take it from me, StarCity really did a great job!
I contacted several moving companies for our move from NJ to MD and StarCity had a great price, all-inclusive (besides tip) and Carlos was very good about answering all my questions quickly and efficiently. One moving company priced my move 2000+ more than StarCity, and the ones that were similar to StarCity never even followed up once after I requested a quote. I don't like overbearing companies but I do like at least one call back.
One thing I wish was that the moving foreman, Rolando, would have contacted me regarding the specifics of the move, then I having to contact him, but that's a little issue. However, Rolando set up a prep for all of our furniture the day before our move, Jose and 2 other guys came a bit early but they wrapped all our furniture. I liked Jose and the crew that I hoped they would come back the next day. Jose said he couldn't guarantee that but I was pleasantly surprised to see Jose again the next morning at 8:30am with two different guys. They were quick to load the truck with all of our boxes (we had a lot!) and then our furniture. They handled everything pretty well, no complaints. Oh I forgot to mention that they dropped off our 5 wardrobe boxes on friday, that was a HUGE HELP!! Thank you!
We had to get down to Maryland before them, so we left a bit early, as my parents stayed with them as them finished up. Our new apartment is not listed on most GPS because its a new complex and new construction. They got into the area and called me and I quickly found them and led them to the place. They then moved everything into our new apartment. I'm sure it was a long day but they did everything in one day and we were very appreciative. I bought them coffee/doughnuts in the morning, and pizza/soda for the move in.
